Dec 2019.

Huddled around a campfire to ward off a cold night on the banks of the Dawki river, I tilted my head back in laughter and spotted a shooting star whiz past a black, frozen sky. Serendipity. I held my head still in disbelief, watching it’s tail disappear in an instant, wondering what the odds were that I could set my eyes on a brief, short-lived wonder that had taken millions of years to form, navigate and arrive at the same time and space that my own circuitous journey had brought me to.
Was it brief, the moment? Yes, but something about it made it eternal.
